BIOGRAFIA:


Midge Ure - wokalista, gitarzysta, kompozytor, autor tekstów, producent nagrań. Od roku 1972 występował w Glasgow z zespołem Salvation, przemianowanym w 1974 na Silk. Krótkotrwałą popularność grupa zawdzięcza błahym piosenkom Billa Martina i Phila Coultera, m.in.: Forever And Ever i Requiem zebranym na płycie "Silk". W 1977 zespół przeobraził się w Zones. Ure razem z perkusistą Kennym Hyslopem przygotował wtedy singel "Pain", sygnowany nazwą PVC2. Jesienią 1977 Midge Ure dołączył do The Rich Kids, zespołu byłego basisty Sex Pistols - Glena Matlocka. W roku 1979 występował w Thin Lizzy (podczas tournee po Stanach Zjednoczonych i Japonii) oraz nagrał ze Steve' m Strange'm singel "In The Year 2525" z nową wersją zapomnianego przeboju duetu Zeger And Evans. Współpracę ze Strange'm kontynuował też później, uczestnicząc w nagraniach jego jego studyjnej grupy Visage. Od roku 1979 do 1987 Midge Ure był członkiem ULTRAVOX. Jako wokalista przedstawił piosenki utrzymane w stylu tego zespołu, jak np.: If I Was, Homeland, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, All Fall Down, Just For You, czy Sister And Brother (duet z Kate Bush).
W roku 1984 razem z Bobem Geldofem napisał piosenkę "Do They Know It's Christmas?", nagraną z zespołem gwiazd Band Aid (m.in.: Sting, Bono, David Bowie, Phil Collins). Dochód ze sprzedaży singla z tym utworem przeznaczono na zakup żywności dla mieszkańców Afryki.
Po zakończeniu współpracy z pozostałymi muzykami Ultravox Midge Ure skupił się na karierze solowej, nagrywając płyty, na których znalazły się takie przeboje jak: No Regret, That Certain Smile, Answers To Nothing, I See Hope In The Morning Light i inne.
